DaeShawn Marquis Rodriguez was born into the welcoming arms of his mother, SaNisa, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006. He instantly captured the hearts of all his family members!
SaNisa claims that when DaeShawn became tired or fussy, she could easily calm and comfort him by wrapping him in a soft, cuddly blanket and hum songs to him. At the tender age of seven weeks, DaeShawn was very alert and constantly “checking out” his family and surroundings. He easily made known that he recognized his Mom and bottle through voice and gesture! DaeShawn’s smile and baby giggle was infectious to all who were near him. He recently delighted in the new experiences of a swing and trying a small amount of mashed potatoes and turkey juice on Thanksgiving Day.
DaeShawn will be an angel forever and cherished in the hearts and minds of those who shared in his short life.
He is survived by his loving mother, SaNisa Rodriguez, of Mason City; his grandparents, Gloria Rodriguez of Mason City and Timothy Bekish Sr. of Des Moines; his great-grandmother, Joann Bekish, of Des Moines; and his aunts and uncles, Timothy Rodriguez II, Laurissa, Tamisha, Iesha, Layesha, Charlessa, A’liyah, Tre’Devonte, and Keegan Bekish.
