Russell L. Kreamer
BOISE, Idaho — Russell L. Kreamer, 83,
of Boise, Idaho, peacefully fell asleep
on Saturday (Sept. 17, 2005).
A private graveside service will take
place at the Idaho Veterans Cemetery in
Boise on today, Sept. 21, 2005.
Cremation arrangements are under
direction of the Cremation Society of
Idaho.
Russell was born on Dec. 26, 1921, in
Alden, Iowa, to John and Edith Kreamer.
He attended and graduated from Alden
High School in 1939. Beginning in 1942,
at the age of 21, Russell proudly served
four years in the United States Navy and
spent most of his service time in New
Jersey and Puerto Rico and was
discharged in February of 1946.
On March 24, 1946, he married Maxine J.
Wurn of Plymouth, Iowa. Together they
shared a very special love that lasted
59 years. They spent the majority of
their lives in Plymouth, raising their
three children and contributing to the
community.
Russell served on the Plymouth City
Council for a number of years as well as
charter member of the volunteer fire
department, while Maxine contributed to
the local First United Methodist Church
and its Women’s Auxiliary.
Russell started his working career with
his father-in-law in his blacksmith shop
in Plymouth and then as a welder for
Thomas Machine Shop in Mason City. He
finished his career working for
Winnebago Industries as a welder and
machinist and retired at 65. In 1992,
Russell and Maxine moved to Boise,
Idaho, to be close to their children.
Russell worked hard all his life to
provide for his family. He was one of
those rare individuals who, through his
love for his Heavenly Father, set the
finest example of a loving and giving
son, husband, father and grandfather.
His love for his family and those around
him was the basis for what he valued
most in this life.
Russell is preceded in death by his
parents, three brothers and two sisters,
and oldest son, Ronald Kreamer.
He is survived by his loving wife,
Maxine; one son and his wife, Bill and
Claudia Kreamer and their sons Jordan
and Mason; and one daughter and her
husband, Glenda and Ron Berto, all
living in Boise, Idaho. He is also
survived by his eldest son’s children,
Annette, Jonathon and Travis as well as
four great-grandchildren and many nieces
and nephews.
We that survive Russell now take our
comfort from our Heavenly Father and
from the knowledge we gain from His
written Word. Although we mourn his
loss, we cling to the promises set forth
in God’s Word and the hope we have of
Christ’s return and that one day we will
once again see our beloved husband,
father, and grandfather.
We wish to thank all those at the Idaho
Veterans Home for the love and wonderful
care they had given to Russell. Their
compassion was a great comfort and
blessing to the family and we ask that,
in lieu of flowers, please send any
