Marcella was born in Sheffield Dec. 26, 1919, a daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth (Knapp) Culver and made her home in this community her entire life.

She was baptized Dec. 11, 1932, at the EUB Church in Sheffield. Throughout her years she devoted her life to God, her family and friends.     All were truly the focus of her life!

On Oct. 28, 1938, Marcella was united in marriage with Russell L. Crawford in Minnesota. Marcella was a loyal servant in the community during World War II. Along with many other young women in Sheffield, she was employed at the local Brick & Tile factory. They filled a void while the majority of the younger male population was off to war.

Marcella was a devout Christian and a member of the Zion St. John Lutheran Church. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Aid Society and a lifetime member of the Hillside Cemetery Society.

These past 20 years were not easy for Marcella as she battled with advanced stages of osteoporosis. Even though she was plagued with constant pain, she frequently managed a smile and made certain everyone knew — she never questioned God's plan for her.

We'll miss you, Mrs. Crawford. Hallelujah, the pain is gone!

Rest easy, Mom, your family is at peace knowing you and Dad are with the Father.
