EDNA MARIE FENTON

OSAGE - Edna Marie Fenton, 78, of Osage, died Saturday (Oct. 30, 1999) at her home, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Osage, with the Rev. Jerry Newland officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, and one hour before services at the church.

Edna Marie Fenton, the daughter of Abner and Rosetta (Bennett) Flowers, was born Dec., 1920, in Jackson, Minn. She grew up in the Osage area and attended Osage schools.

She married Bill Fenton on Oct. 26, 1947, at First Baptist Church in Osage. She liked to show and ride horses. She was a member of the Cedar River Saddle Club, and loved trail rides. She enjoyed camping and was an avid doll collector. She knitted, made ceramics and egg shell jewelry and decoupage. Marie made beautiful teddy bears that her family and friends treasure. She taught Sunday school for many years at First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bill, of Osage; two sons, Jerry Lee Fenton and his son, Zeb, Tallahassee, Fla., Rickie Lynn Fenton of Sac City and his daughters, Niky Lynn, Laura Marie and Rachel Lee; three sisters, Margaret Smith, Beloit, Wis., Marian Johnson, Charles City, and Marilynn Reis and her husband, Marvin, Osage; two brothers, Robert Flowers and his wife, Adeline, South Beloit, Wis., Richard Flowers and his wife, Sagda, Omaha, Neb.; one great-grandson, Bryce Jordan Hook; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roger Flowers; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

NORA SPRINGS - Mary Belle Clifford, 84, of Nora Springs, died Sunday (Oct. 31, 1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

CLEM BRANDENBURG

BANCROFT - Clem Brandenburg, 78, of Bancroft, died Saturday (Oct. 30, 1999) at the Fairmont Community Hospital, Fairmont, Minn.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church, Bancroft, with the Rev. Paul Bormann officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Bancroft.

Visitation will be after 2:30 p.m. today at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Algona, with a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. with a Knights of Columbus rosary to follow.

OSAGE - Mary Voaklander, 93, of Osage died Sunday (Oct. 31, 1999) at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage.

GRACE STOHR

WODEN - Grace Stohr, 87, of Woden died Thursday (Oct. 28, 1999) at the Timely Mission Nursing Home, Buffalo Center.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. today at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Titonka, with the Rev. Virtus Stoffregen officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services today at the Church. Winter Funeral Home, Buffalo Center, is in charge of arrangements.

Grace Sedena Stohr, the daughter of Bruno and Englena (Troff) Bruns, was born April 16, 1912, in German Township, Iowa.

She married Edward Stohr on Jan. 27, 1938. Together they farmed and raised a family near Woden. They retired in 1982.

She loved her flower garden, enjoyed crocheting and she cherished her family and grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Titonka. She became a resident of Timely Mission Nursing Home, Buffalo Center, in September 1998.

Survivors include her husband, Ed, of Woden; three daughters, Elaine Christensen and her husband, Ronald, Emmetsburg, Sharon Uken and her husband, George, Titonka, and Thelma Meyering and her husband, Rusty, Woden; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lena Harringa of Britt, Gertie Stohr of Britt, and Tressa Beenken, Buffalo Center; and one brother, Bruno Bruns Jr., and his wife, Frances, of Britt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Etta Mayland, Jennie Korte and Johanna Bruns; and two brothers, Walbert Bruns and John Bruns.

CHARLES CITY -Roland Sills, 75, of 606 Hildreth St., Charles City, died Sunday (Oct. 31, 1999) at Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City.

GILES SPRINGER

CHARLES CITY - Giles Springer, 79, a resident of Richings Street, Charles City, formerly of Alta Vista, died Sunday (Oct. 31, 1999) at Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Alta Vista, with the Rev. Roger Rethamel officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery, Nashua.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main, Charles City, where there will be a vigil scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. followed by a rosary recited by the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will continue at St. Bernard's Catholic Church an hour prior to the services.
