** Mary K. Kramer

CHARLES CITY — Mary K. Kramer, 103, died Saturday (Jan. 9, 1999) at the Riverside Chautauqua Guest Home.

Graveside memorial funeral services will be held at the Appleton Cemetery, Appleton, Minn., in the spring. There will be no visitation. The Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Kaye Kramer was born May 5, 1895, in Metcalf, Ill.

Survivors include a daughter, Alta Mae Kasel of Charles City; a son, Leroy Kramer of Farmington, Minn.; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons and six brothers and sisters.

** Harold Brandt

HAMPTON — Harold Brandt, 66, died Sunday (Jan. 10, 1999) at Franklin General Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home.

** Lola Mae Kramer

OSAGE — Lola Mae Kramer, 68, died Sunday (Jan. 10, 1999) at her home.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Champion Funeral Home.

** Dorothy E. Schutjer

TITONKA — Dorothy Elizabeth "Betty" Schutjer, 84, died Sunday (Jan. 10, 1999) at the Titonka Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Timm Wilkin officiating. Burial will be in the Buffalo Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home.

She was born March 25, 1914, in Minneapolis.

Survivors include her children, Millie Yates of Clear Lake and Jerald D. Schutjer of Palm Harbor, Fla.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.

** Inez Holmes

RICEVILLE — Inez Holmes, 81, passed away Sunday (Jan. 10, 1999) at Howard County Memorial Hospital in Cresco.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Riceville, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Mowbray officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery at Plymouth.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home, Riceville.

Inez Janet Holmes was born Nov. 26, 1917, in rural Mason City, to John and Helena (Wempken) Alitz. She attended local schools and Mason City High School. On Oct. 5, 1939, she was united in marriage to Thomas (Murray) Holmes at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To this union two children were born. For more than 30 years, Inez owned and operated the Wedding and Parties Specialties business in Riceville.

Survivors include her husband, Murray, of Riceville; one son, Greg, and his wife, Jan Holmes, of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; one daughter, Marilyn, and her husband, Joe Hartogh, of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren and their spouses, Colleen and Pierce Eckhoff of Minburn, Steven and Susanna Hartogh of St. Paul, Minn., Michael Hartogh of St. Paul, Janelle and Matt Bowman of League City, Texas, and Nicole Hartogh of Minneapolis; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Eckhoff, Collin Hartogh and Jane Bowman; three brothers, Bill Alitz of Des Moines, LeRoy Alitz of Poughkeepskie, N.Y., and Harley Alitz of Mason City; and three sisters, Lucille Houck of Keystone, Loree Kulhavy of Mason City and Marjorie Hansen of Sumner, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Milton Alitz.

** Clarence Marvin Sr.

NASHUA — Clarence Marvin Sr., 79, died Saturday (Jan. 9, 1999) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Nashua, with the Rev. Robert Spaight officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, where the St. Francis Circle will recite the Rosary at 3 p.m., and a scriptural wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Clarence Lawrence Marvin Sr. was born Jan. 20, 1919, at Alta Vista.

Survivors include his wife, Anna, of Nashua; three sons, Clarence Jr. and Larry, both of Nashua, and John of Charles City; eight grandchildren; two brothers, LaVerne and Virgil, both of Alta Vista; and four sisters, Marcella Simmons of Marion, Myrtle Ronsonke of New Hampton, Delores Welch of Hammond, Ind., and Mary Knutson of Charles City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

** Freddie Gerdes

WODEN — Freddie Gerdes, 83, of Garner, formerly of Woden, died Sunday (Jan. 10, 1999) at the Concord Care Center, Garner.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Woden, with the Rev. Arlen Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in Bingham Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Woden, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
