-Raymond J. Ihnen, 85, of Northwood, died Sunday, May 15, 2011, in the
Hospice Unit at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood, with his wife
of 63 years at his side.
His body has been cremated per his wishes.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 23, at First
Lutheran Church, Northwood with the Rev. Karen Grandall officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Schroeder & Sites
Funeral Home, Highway 65 South, Northwood.
Memorials may be given to Breen Center Lutheran Retirement Home or First
Lutheran Church, Northwood.
Raymond J. Ihnen was born Feb. 3, 1926, to Tjark and Irene (Dirks) Ihnen
of Palmer. He attended and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St.
Paul's Lutheran Church.
He attended school in Palmer where he graduated from high school. After
graduating high school, Raymond attended Wartburg College where he
obtained his B.A. degree in business with teaching emphasis. This
college education was interrupted by
World War II
when he served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater. He later went on to
obtain his master's degree in business from Mankato State University.
Raymond was united in marriage to Mary Ellen (Harris) Ihnen on Aug. 29,
1948, in Charles City. To this union five children were born: Jeffrey,
Bryan, Stephanie, Kerry and Joel.
Raymond began his teaching career in Manilla, where he taught high
school business courses for three years. He was also a coaching
assistant in football and basketball. From there he went on to teach
high school in Burt, for nine years as well as being a coach for high
school football, high school boys and girls basketball and boys
baseball. He next taught in Sutherland, for three years with coaching
duties of assistant high school football and head coach of junior high
boys basketball. His last teaching job took him to Northwood, where he
taught for 24 years. Here he also did football scouting as well as
coaching high school boys baseball, high school girls softball and
track, and junior high girls basketball. Raymond retired from teaching
in 1987.
Raymond was also involved in summer youth baseball coaching Midgets,
PeeWees and coach pitch/T-ball.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Northwood, serving on the
church council as well as serving as president of the Church council. He
later served as one of the regular money counters for offerings. He
served as treasurer for Meals on Wheels program in Northwood. His
hobbies included fishing, camping, traveling, and attending his
children's and grandchildren's many activities. Anyone who knew Raymond
also knew that he was very involved in baseball, being an avid Chicago
Cubs fan. He thoroughly enjoyed his family, especially his
grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as his dog, Rascal.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Raymond is survived by his wife Mary of Northwood; children Jeffrey
(Marcia) of Arlington, Va.; Bryan (Karen) of Des Moines; Kerry (Joan) of
Streator, Ill.; Joel (Jean) of Princeton, Minn., and Stephanie (Butch)
Perkins of Northwood; sister Edna (Eldon) Arends of Wayzata, Minn.;
grandchildren Andrew and Joel Ihnen, Tiffany Ihnen, Nathan (Jessica)
Ihnen, Zeb Ihnen, Naomi (Dan) Schutz, Jacob (Jessica) Gentz and Julia
Ihnen; great grandchildren Brooklyn and Hunter Ihnen, Jace and Olivia
Gentz, and Aydan Schutz; nephew Jon (Jenni) Arends of Minnetrista, Minn.

eternal rest at the Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs.

Rev. Judy Wooten officiating.

prior to the service at the church.
Carol will be cremated following the funeral service and burial will be

Carol Winnifred Woelfer was born on Oct. 28, 1914, in rural Rockford,
Iowa, the eldest daughter of Erwin and Nellie (Smith) Woelfer. She
received her education in the Rockford area and graduated from Rockford
High School in 1932. She taught two years in rural schools. She was
united in marriage to Wayne Parcher on June 12, 1935. They farmed for
five years in the Greene, Iowa, area before purchasing a farm southwest
of Rockford. In 1971 they moved into Rockford. Wayne passed away on Jan.
31, 1995. Carol continued living in Rockford until November 2009 when
she moved into the Nora Springs Care Center.
She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Rockford.
Carol was a member of Eastern Star, Esser Ladies Aid, the Rockford
Women's Club and the "Sisters Club." She loved the farm life and
especially liked to take care of her chickens and tend the garden. She
liked to knit and was an avid reader. Carol and Wayne enjoyed traveling
and had visited all 50 states plus a trip to Europe.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Dennis (Kathy
Mullen) of Rockford, Morris (Leona) of Rockford, Dick (Cheryl) of
Elkhorn, Neb., and Jill (Gene) Schlueter of Willmar, Minn.; sister,
Betty Schwarck of Charles City; brother-in-law, Donald Parcher of
Rockford; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson,
nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; sisters, Roberta
Inman and June Lokenvitz; and a great-great-granddaughter Elora Grace
Parcher.

be with the Lord on Sunday May 15, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center- North
Iowa, Mason City.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at Ward-Van Slyke
Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, IA. with the Rev. Randy
DeBell and the Rev. Duane Bull officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial
Chapel, Clear Lake and then one hour prior to service on Thursday. A
private interment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Evelyn was born Aug. 30, 1923 in Clear Lake, the daughter of Leroy and
Ethel (Foster) Ebaugh. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in
1941. She married Edwin M. DeBell on March 8, 1943, in her parents'
home. After Ed returned home from World War II, they were blessed with
four children. Evelyn was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She
will be greatly missed.
Evelyn is survived by daughters Jan (Ron) Jennings, Carolyn (Rod)
Kickbush, Kristi (Rev. Duane) Bull, and a son Rev. Randy (Helen) DeBell,
four grandsons Andy Bull, Ben DeBell, Brad (Amy) DeBell, Dan (Leslie)
DeBell, and a brother Don (Betty) Ebaugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ed in 2006.

Raymond was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Leighton, the son of John C. and Josie
(DeJong) DenHartog. Raymond graduated from Pella High School in 1940. He
worked for his dad in the hardware store in Leighton. He entered the
United States
Army
during World War II and received the
Purple Heart.
Following the service, he attended Central College in Pella. He then
went to the
University of Iowa
where he graduated with a B.S. degree.
Raymond married Jean Louise McLean Aug. 14, 1948, in College Springs.
They lived in Mount Pleasant, moving to Council Bluffs in 1949, where he
worked at Omar Baking Co. They moved to Des Moines, working for Solar
Air Craft until 1958 when they moved to Clear Lake. He worked for
General Adjustment Bureau as an insurance adjuster and later Federated
Insurance, in Owattona, and American Family. He taught business classes
and economics at Hamilton Business College until he retired in 1988.
Raymond enjoyed gardening, hunting and traveling, which included
camping. He especially loved being with his grandchildren and following
their sports. He enjoyed his English bull- dogs, and attending the Drake
Relays. He was a member of the Clear lake United Methodist Church, Men's
Garden Club of North Iowa and the Clear Lake V.F.W.
Raymond is survived by his wife Jean DenHartog, Clear Lake; three
children: Glenda Evenrud, Minneapolis, Minn., Michael John (Elizabeth)
DenHartog, Clear Lake, and Jerry (Tammy) DenHartog, Clear Lake; eight
grandchildren: Elise (Lt. Col. Donald) Chipman, Daman DenHartog, Neal
DenHartog, Kelsea DenHartog, Rachael Ewing, Ryan (Courtney) Willis,
Dustin DenHartog, and Katy (Nate) Clapham; seven great grandchildren:
Hunter, Tyler, Ashley, Asher, Ashton, Ivy and Cosette; and one
brother-in-law Ken Glewen, Waupun, Wis.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Betty
Glewen.

Barbara Ruth Heuerman was born in Hampton, March 31, 1925, a daughter of
William and Agnes (Early) Heuerman. At a young age her family moved to
her grandparents' farm south of Hampton where, working very close with
her father, she learned many of her best traits. Barbara graduated from
Hampton High School and attended Drake University for a short time.
Barbara was united in marriage with Clarence "Casey" Heuberger on Sept.
9, 1947, at her parents' farm. They made their home two miles north of
Chapin and as farmers raised their four children.
In 1978, Casey and Barbara moved one mile east to a house they built and
started the Greentree Ridge Christmas Trees and Landscaping business.
Barbara was always active in her church and was known as an excellent
cook. With the help of her children she always had a large garden,
enjoying fresh and home canned produce all year round.
Barbara placed high importance on family, hosting hundreds of picnics
while the children were growing. With Casey and their family, Barbara
made many wonderful trips and gained many lifelong friends, including a
pair of twins from Mexico and their families whom they visited many
times during the past 40 years.
Barbara was an excellent swimmer that made sure her children learned to
swim about the same time they could walk.
Her family includes: daughter; Jean Ann (Glenn) Hartman and daughter
Holly Hoffman; son: John (Sally) Heuberger and their children, Katie
(Jay) Ketelsen and Josh Heuberger; Son: Jim (Becky) Heuberger and their
children Jessica (Brad) Tendall and children Tyler and Adam, Jared
Heuberger, Joel (Christal) Heuberger and son Saige, Dave (Jill) Hill and
children Autumn and Hunter, Cathy Robinson (Josh) and her children
McKenna, Austin, Raquel and Lexus; Ann (Nathan) Peterson and daughter
Layla.
She is preceded in death by her husband Casey, son William, parents, and

- James A. "Jim" Howie, 87, of Garner died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at
the Concord Care Center in Garner from complications of cancer.

at Concord Township Cemetery in Garner with Justin Asche officiating. A
celebration of life fellowship will follow the service at the United

James Alton Howie, the son of Olin and Margaret (Maire) Howie, was born
April 23, 1924, at Monticello, Iowa. He graduated from Monticello High
School in 1942. On Dec. 26, 1953, he married Dorothy Mae Baack Rae at
Mason City. Jim opened "Howie Farm Supply," his first John Deere
dealership in Monticello in November 1948. He relocated that dealership
to Garner in 1951 and in 1975 changed the business name to "Circle H
Inc." Jim's wife, Dorothy and sons Jay and Jeff operated the dealership
until the company franchise termination in 2002. Circle H was one of the
longest standing single proprietor John Deere dealers in the region. He
enjoyed community service, gardening, fishing, talking to all kinds of
people and time spent with family. Jim was well known in North Iowa for
his sense of humor and knowledge of people, places and events.
Jim was very active in the United Presbyterian Church in Garner where he
served as an elder and trustee. He was involved in the Garner community
as a past member of the Jaycees, Lions Club,
Rotary Club
and Garner Chamber of Commerce serving as board president in 1958. Jim
also helped with the Garner FFA and Avery Theatre.
He is survived by his children, Barbara (Keith) Lembo of Charlotte,
N.C., Jay Howie (special friend, Renee McClellan) of Hampton, Jeff
(Jolene) Howie of Garner and Beth (David) Delagardelle of Waterloo;
seven grandchildren, William, Jesse and Morgan Howie, Amanda and Alex
Howie and Michael and Daniel Delagardelle; and a daughter-in-law,
Roberta Howie of Garner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, Jan. 25, 2001;

Donald Eugene Kimball

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Donald Eugene Kimball, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed
away on April 18, 2011.
Don was born on Feb. 20, 1930, on a farm South of Ventura to Walter and
Alice Kimball. Don had one brother and two sisters. After graduating
from Boone High School, he married the love of his life, Betty, in
January 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948-1952. Don and
Betty moved their family from Denver, Colo. to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1960.
Don was a member of the Phoenix Fire Department from 1960-1983, where he
retired as a battalion chief.
Don is survived by his wife Betty, sons Bruce, Rick (Marti), and Kelly (DawnMarie),
as well as many grandchildren an great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at the Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, Glendale,
Ariz. in April and graveside services were held at the National Memorial
Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, Ariz. also in April.

Truman William Warner was born on June 16, 1916, in Lineville, the son
of George Warner, Jr. and Almeda (Elston) Warner. He was raised in
southern Iowa.
On Oct. 15, 1938, Truman was united in marriage to Dorothy Arlene Leslie
in Mason City; this union would be blessed with 5 children.
For nearly 15 years Truman worked for National By-Products Rendering
Plant in Mason City. He would also work for many other packinghouses in
various states before his retirement.
In his younger years, Truman enjoyed woodworking, fishing, coon hunting,
playing cards and cribbage, gardening and traveling.
Those grateful in sharing in Truman's life are his wife, Dorothy,
Marshalltown; children, Sharol Jean Cain, Albuquerque, N.M., Truman W.
Warner, Jr., Toledo, David E. Warner, Pine River, Minn., and Carol A.
Warner, Gardner, Kan.; 19 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 14
great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and
friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his step- father; his daughter,

MOINES - Thelma Boot, 98, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011, at
Mitchellville Care Center.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at
Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. in Des Moines. Burial will follow
at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, Iowa.
Thelma was born Dec. 6, 1912, in Ottumwa, to Pearl and Blanche (Lewis)
Santen. She graduated from Newton High School in 1931 and was united in
marriage to Rollin Boot in 1933. The couple owned and operated Boot's
Meat Market, which later became Hutchinson's Meat Market. Thelma lived
in Mason City for 50 years prior to moving to Pleasant Hill in 1996, and
she became a member of Simpson United Methodist Church.
Thelma was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and White
Shrine.
Survivors include her niece, Nancy (James) Shepherd; nephew, David
(Sheryl) Bewyer; seven great-nieces and nephews and two
great-great-nieces.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rollin; and
sister, Josephine Bewyer.
Memorial contribution may be directed to the Mason City Order of Eastern
Star or Iowa Hospice.

Helen Duregger
BARCO, N.C. - Helen Fern Spilman Duregger, 96, of Kitty Hawk, N.C.,
passed away on May 14, 2011, at Sentara Care Center, Barco, N.C.
Helen was born on Jan. 4, 1915, to Dan and Alphena Spilman on a farm
south of Clear Lake, Iowa. She and her husband Fred lived in Iowa most
of their lives until moving to Newport News, Va., in 1985 to be close to
family. She was the second child in a family of eight brothers and
sisters and spent much of her early life on the farm caring for the
younger children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker
and activemember of Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, for over 40 years.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Newport News, Va., and
currently a member of Grace Lutheran Church By-The-Sea, Nags Head, N.C.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Duregger (Carolyn) of Kitty Hawk,
N.C., and Terry Duregger (Sandy) of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren,
Susan (Michael) Brittan of Virginia Beach, Va., Joel (Julie) Duregger of
Newport News, Va., Dan (Carolyn) Duregger of Mesa, Ariz., and Darcy
(Jeremy) Boggs of Tempe, Ariz.; eight great-grandchildren, Taylor and
Connor Britten, Virginia Beach, Va., Megan, Ryan, and Grace Duregger of
Newport News, Va., Dylan Duregger of Mesa, Ariz., and Gavin and Logan
Boggs of Tempe, Ariz., sisters Thelma Duregger and Betty Thomas and
brother Danny Spilman of Clear Lake, Iowa.
Predeceasing her in death was her husband of 73 years Fred Duregger in
2008, as well as her parents, four brothers, Dale, Orville (Fritz),
Wayne (Shorty) and Sam Spilman.
A Celebration of Life for the immediate family was held at Norfolk
General Hospital Chapel by Pastor Al Isler of Grace Luther Church

SPRINGS - On Sunday, May 15, 2011, Carol Parcher, 96, entered eternal
rest at the Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs.
A funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 21
Third St. N.W. in Rockford, on Thursday, May 19, at 10:30 a.m. with the
Rev. Judy Wooten officiating.
A visitation will be held at Fullerton Funeral Home, 302 W. Main Ave. in
Rockford today, Wednesday, May 18 from 5-7 p.m., and again one hour
prior to the service at the church.
Carol will be cremated following the funeral service and burial will be
at a later date in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Carol Winnifred Woelfer was born on Oct. 28, 1914, in rural Rockford,
Iowa, the eldest daughter of Erwin and Nellie (Smith) Woelfer. She
received her education in the Rockford area and graduated from Rockford
High School in 1932. She taught two years in rural schools. She was
united in marriage to Wayne Parcher on June 12, 1935. They farmed for
five years in the Greene, Iowa, area before purchasing a farm southwest
of Rockford. In 1971 they moved into Rockford. Wayne passed away on Jan.
31, 1995. Carol continued living in Rockford until November 2009 when
she moved into the Nora Springs Care Center.
She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Rockford.
Carol was a member of Eastern Star, Esser Ladies Aid, the Rockford
Women's Club and the "Sisters Club." She loved the farm life and
especially liked to take care of her chickens and tend the garden. She
liked to knit and was an avid reader. Carol and Wayne enjoyed traveling
and had visited all 50 states plus a trip to Europe.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Dennis (Kathy
Mullen) of Rockford, Morris (Leona) of Rockford, Dick (Cheryl) of
Elkhorn, Neb., and Jill (Gene) Schlueter of Willmar, Minn.; sister,
Betty Schwarck of Charles City; brother-in-law, Donald Parcher of
Rockford; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson,
nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; sisters, Roberta
Inman and June Lokenvitz; and a great-great-granddaughter Elora Grace
Parcher.

Darrel A. Shaffer
BOLINGBROOK, Ill. - Darrel A. Shaffer, son of Lloyd A. Shaffer and
LaVerle Delger, passed away with family at his bedside on May 13, 2011,
in Bolingbrook, Ill., after a long illness. Darrel was born in Fayette,
Iowa, on July 19, 1935.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Nessett) Shaffer, and daughters,
Pamela (Thomas) Ziegler, Vicki (Jon) Deal and Debra (John) Weber. He is
further survived by nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren; brother Doyle (Linda) Shaffer; sister Merle
Johnson; brother-in-law Robert (Judy) Nessett; sisters-in-law Janice
Shaffer and Sandy Shaffer; and many nieces and nephews.
Darrel was preceded in death by his parents; , brothers Alden, Dale,
Forrest and Jerry; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Bud and Lucille
Nessett.
Darrel worked for the Armour Company for 30 years and retired in Chicago
in 1999 from AMPAC.
Darrel enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his St. Louis
Cardinals play baseball.

CEDAR -Nicholas Bradley Duryee, 27, of Little Cedar died Tuesday, May
17, 2011, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn., from a sudden
illness.

Liberty Cemetery in Little Cedar with Pastor Gary Gilbert officiating.
Nick was born July 15, 1983. He was the son of Leslie Duryee of Little
Cedar, Bruce Abben of Mason City and his step-father, Lonnie Conrad.
Nick thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his uncles, aunts, cousins,
friends and especially his mom. He enjoyed fishing, campfires, playing
video games, lounging in the swimming pool and being with family and
friends. Nick will be greatly missed by everyone.
He is survived by his mother, Leslie Duryee; his sister, Natasha Duryee;
his father, Bruce Abben; and his step-father, Lonnie Conrad.
Survivors also include his sister, Ashley Abben; his brothers, Adam and
Travis Abben; his grandparents, Marian and Wayne Duryee and Bud and

- Olga Kathleen (Kaasa) Dahl, 88, Manly, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011,
at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.
A funeral service for Olga will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21,
at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 600 South St., Kensett, with Pastor
Linda Johnson Prestholt officiating. Burial will be in the Kensett
Cemetery.

Olga Kathleen (Kaasa) Dahl was born on April 29, 1923, in rural Lake
Mills, the daughter of Oscar and Inger (Sorbo) Kaasa. She was baptized
and reaffirmed the faith of her baptism through confirmation in the Sion
Lutheran Church, rural Northwood.
Olga attended rural Lake Mills School and graduated from Lake Mills High
School. After completing her schooling, Olga worked at the American Gas
Co. in Albert Lea, Minn. She was united in marriage to Palmer Dahl on
Aug. 20, 1944, at the Sion Lutheran Church, rural Northwood. After their
marriage, together they farmed in rural Manly. Olga was a very devoted
wife, mother and grandmother.
Olga loved cooking, family gatherings, canning and baking, but her great
love and enjoyment was her family and spending time with them.
Olga was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kensett and the Martha
Circle.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Palmer Dahl of Manly;
two children: Dennis (Yolanda) Dahl of Manly and Patricia (Paul) Formo
of Mason City; three grandchildren: Kristin (Chadd) Price of Livonia,
Mich., Daniel (Jennifer) Formo of Blair, Neb., and Kelsey Dahl of
Minneapolis, Minn.; two step-grandchildren: Lanie (Joseph) Spence of
Waterloo and John (Angela) Mensink of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters:
Norene Rod of Mason City and Ina Misel of Lake Mills; as well as many
nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Olga was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers-in-law: Herbert
Rod and Dean Misel; and a close family friend for many years, Tony

MILLS - David A. Heitland, 69, of Lake Mills died Wednesday, May 18,
2011, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills.

David Aldean Heitland was born on Aug. 21, 1941, in Thompson to parents
Edward and Marion (Smith) Heitland. He attended and graduated from
Buffalo Center High School in Buffalo Center, Iowa, with the class of
1959.
Following his schooling, Dave worked in Des Moines for Lehigh Cement
until 1962, when he moved back to North Iowa. Dave was employed at
Deluxe/Fleetguard Industries. At the time of his retirement, Dave had
worked there for 33 years, and was a plant supervisor.
On Nov. 28, 2008, David was united in marriage with Gescha Berhow. The
couple made their home in Lake Mills and always enjoyed the company of
their family and friends.
David was an avid (and competitive) golfer, and he loved to watch the
Hawkeyes and the Green Bay Packers play ball. Dave was very proud of his
children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Gescha Heitland of Lake Mills; three
children: Scott (Kim) Heitland of Cedar Rapids, Shelly Simmons of
Oklahoma City, Okla., and Brad (Kandace) Heitland of Brooklyn Park,
Minn.; three step-children: Cory (Emilie) Gregor of Des Moines, Dallas
(Karen Ziegler) Gregor of Des Moines and Andy Gregor of Britton, S.D.;
and grandchildren Trevor Heitland, Drew Heitland, Alisha Simmons, Khaila
(Matt Stephens) Simmons, Elijah David Heitland (due July 4, 2011), Gaven
Gregor, Graysen Gregor, and Lucas Ziegler. Dave is also survived by his
siblings, Shirley (Jerry) Higbee of Lake Mills, Donna (Allan) Gilbertson
of Forest City, and Paul (Jean) Heitland of Lake Mills; aunts and uncle,
Dorothy Heitland of Buffalo Center and Bill (Elsie) Smith of Buffalo
Center; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marion Heitland; a
wife, Betty Heitland; step-daughter, Dawn Lunning; and a brother and
sister-in-law, James (Marilyn) Heitland.

Glennis E. Signs
MASON CITY - Glennis E. Signs, 84, of Mason City died Monday, May 17,
2011, at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. Upon her wishes her
body was donated to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy.
There are no services scheduled at this time and inurnment will take
place in Iowa City at a later date.
Glennis was born Aug. 22, 1926, in Mason City, the daughter of Ivan and
Bertha M. (Lange) Wendt. She graduated from Mason City High School in
1945.
She was married to Donald Signs on Feb. 14, 1961, in Chicago, Ill. She
lived in Des Moines until moving to Mason City in 1975. She was employed
at the United Home Bank and also Fareway Grocery Store. She was a member
of the
V.F.W.
Auxiliary and also the First Assembly of God Church in Mason City.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Glennis is survived by her brother, Gene Wendt and wife, Marvyl, of
Vail, Ariz.; two nieces, Marjorie and Deborah, and many cousins and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald, in 1999.
