Moore, Robert A. "Bob"

ALEXANDER - Robert A. "Bob" Moore, 72, of Alexander passed away Thursday (Oct. 2, 2008) at the Belmond Health Care Center.
Funeral services for Bob Moore will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday Oct. 6, at the United Methodist Church in Belmond. Pastor Mark Pluff and Pastor Mike Druhl will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Alexander Cemetery near Alexander.
Visitation for Bob Moore will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick's Lane S. in Belmond, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Robert "Bob" Moore, son of Curtis and Valma Deshler Moore, was born on Nov. 28, 1935, six miles east of Sheffield on the home place on Thanksgiving day. The doctor ate dinner with the family while he waited for Bob's arrival. He went to Halltown Country School through third grade, then went to Sheffield Public School.
Bob was united in marriage to Nancy Prilipp on Jan. 1, 1956. The couple made their home in the Hampton and Belmond areas. In 1959 he ran a corn sheller business in the Hampton area. He worked for and with farmers until 1978 when he went to work for Asgrow Seed Corn Co. until he retired in 1998.
Bob enjoyed gardening-more garden than Bob and Nancy needed, so he supplied a lot of vegetables to friends and family who didn't have a garden. Camping was also another enjoyment. In the winter he'd have as much fun in the snow as a kid, only he was blowing snow to clean out theirs and the neighbor lady's driveway. When the rest of us were grumbling about it snowing AGAIN, he was probably pretty happy because he could plan on running his little tractor again.
Bob's mother-in-law thought he made the BEST fried chicken.
Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy; his four children, Ronda (Bill) Smutz of Belmond, David Moore of Shreveport, La., Paul (Veronica) Moore of Tucson, Ariz. and Larry Moore of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and sister Bonnie (Ken) DeVries of Hampton.
