EVERETT R. CASPERSON

LATIMER - Everett R. Casperson, 82, of Latimer, died Monday (May 31, 1999) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Latimer, with the Rev. Randall Bell officiating. Burial will be Saturday at the Calvary Cemetery, in Villard, Minn.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Willim Funeral Home, Latimer, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

MARGARET R. FREESE

CHARLES CITY - Margaret R. Freese, 100, of Ninth Street Chautauqua Guest Home, died Sunday (May 30, 1999) at the nursing home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City, with the Rev. Debra Lincoln, associate pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, and Sister Jennifer Rausch, pastoral minister, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday.

MASON CITY - Sherry Fairchild, 60, of Mason City, died Monday (May 31, 1999) at Sunrise Healthcare Center.

EVELYN SCHULZE

ST. ANSGAR - Evelyn Schulze, 85, of St. Ansgar, died Monday (May 31, 1999) at St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Home, St. Ansgar.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville, with the Rev. Daniel Wee officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.

GERTRUDE REYNOLDS

CHARLES CITY - Gertrude (Mrs. Robert) Reynolds, 90, 707 N. Iowa St., died Friday (May 28, 1999) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Robert Towner officiating. Burial will occur at a later date at St. David's Episcopal Church in Englewood, Fla.

JOHN E. RINNELS

CLEAR LAKE - John E. Rinnels, 60, of 5 Sunset Drive, Clear Lake, died Saturday (May 29, 1999) at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 508 Second Ave. N., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, and will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

John Edward Rinnels was born Nov. 5, 1938, in Sheffield, son of Elmer and Jennie (Ekoff) Rinnels. He married Judith Fistler on Feb. 25, 1961, at the United Methodist Church, Clear Lake.

John grew up in the Sheffield area. He drove truck for many years, and for the past eight years he worked for Yohn Ready Mix, Clear Lake.

He enjoyed horses, sports, fishing and he loved to work. John was devoted to his family and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Rinnels, of Clear Lake; two sons, Randy Rinnels and his wife, Laura, of Clear Lake, and Dennis Rinnels and his wife, Barb, of Clear Lake; five grandchildren, Nick, Jake and Hilary Rinnels, all of Clear Lake, and Ashley and Alyssa Rinnels, both of Clear lake; 11 brothers and sisters, Marvin, Simon, Darlene, Alice, June, Larry, Gary, Judy, Jerry, Donald, and Jane; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harley and Bobby; and one sister, Henriette.

ARNOLD 'BUB' HAMPEL

GARNER - Arnold "Bub" Hampel, 86, of Garner, passed away Sunday (May 30, 1999) at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, with the Rev. Darrell Weber officiating. Interment will be in Concord Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Garner, and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.

Arnold "Bub" John Hampel, the son of William John and Bessie (Hoyt) Hampel, was born June 5, 1912, at Raymond, S.D. He moved with his family to Garner where he attended Hancock County schools, and, in 1930, graduated from Garner High School. He worked for several farmers after graduation.

On Nov. 28, 1936, he was married to Dorothy Esther Haberkamp in Garner. They lived in Meservey from 1942 to 1944 where they farmed with Bob and Winnie Pritchard. He also operated a service station and later established a garbage route in Garner with Clarence Nelson.

On March 4, 1944, he entered the U.S. Army and served with the 34th Infantry in the Pacific campaign. His unit helped in the retaking of the Island of Corregidor. He was wounded on the island of Mindanao on June 19, 1945. After months of hospitalization, bob received his discharge from Percy Jones Hospital in Michigan on Aug. 22, 1946. He returned to Garner and was employed at the Ford garage as parts manager.

In 1963, Bub and Dorothy moved to Clear Lake and in 1983 returned to Garner and built their retirement home. Due to ill health, Bob had resided at the Good Shepherd Health Care Center in Mason City for the past several years. He enjoyed children, fishing, hunting and flower gardening.

He was a member of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, a life member of the Garner American Legion, V.F.W. Post No. 5515 and the D.A.V.

He is survived by four children, Bill L. Hampel and his wife, Minnie, of Denver, Colo.; Kay J. Griffith and her husband, Michael, of Oxford, Ohio; Patricia J. Hampel, of Boulder, Colo.; and Elizabeth A. DenHartog and her husband, Michael, of Clear Lake; 10 grandchildren, David Hampel, Walter Hampel, Serena Eads, Cameron Griffith, Laura Austin, Arian Hampel, Elise Chipman, Daman DenHartog, Neal DenHartog, Kelsey DenHartog; two great-grandchildren, Christie Lynn Hampel and Kayla Hampel; three sisters, Mildren Ax, of Ventura; Winifred Pritchard, of Osage; and Shirley Heuberger and her husband, Larry, of Reno, Nev.; and a brother-in-law, John Foster, of Waseca, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Hampel, Sept. 30, 1998; infant daughter, Barbara A. Hampel; parents; two sisters, Dorothy Foster and Beverly Hyde; and a brother, Earl Hampel.

BRITT - Lenord W. Schwab, 84, of Britt, died Monday (May 31, 1999) at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, Britt.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Britt, with the Rev. Don Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cataldo Funeral Home, Britt, and will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.

TITONKA - Gladys Boeckholt, 71, of Titonka, died Sunday (May 30, 1999) at home, near Titonka.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Faith Assembly of God Church, Algona. Burial will be in the German Valley Cemetery, near Titonka.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Titonka.

BRANDON 'ROSIE' ROSETH

AMERICUS, Ga. - Brandon "Rosie" Roseth, 74, of Americus, Ga., died Sunday (May 30, 1999) at the Phoebe-Putney Hospital, in Albany, Ga.
