ELAINE R. TUCKER

MASON CITY - Elaine R. Tucker, 68, of 327 So. Delaware Ave., died Thursday morning (Dec. 9, 1999) at her home after a year-long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Pleasant View Church of Christ, Cassopolis, Mich., with the Rev. Larry Settle officiating. Interment will be at Oak Dale Cemetery in Vandalia, Mich., next to her husband of 43 years.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the Connelly Funeral Home, 202 N. Broadway in Cassopolis. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Hospice of North Iowa.

Elaine was born on Dec. 12, 1930, at Three Rivers, Mich., one of 11 children of Thomas Jefferson and Mable Irene (Knapp) Kirk. She lived most of her life in Vandalia, graduating from nearby Cassopolis High School in 1948.

Elaine was united in marriage to Harry F. Tucker Sr. on May 25, 1949, in Chicago. To this marriage three children were born. She was employed as a nurses aid at Three Rivers Hospital for many years.

She returned to school at the age of 49 and graduated in the top ten percent of her class as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Three Oaks Community College. She continued working in her new position at the Three Rivers Hospital for 34 years, retiring in 1994.

She moved to Mason City in October of 1996. She was a life-long active member of Pleasant View Church of Christ, Cassopolis, and then at the North Kentucky Church of Christ in Mason City.

She enjoyed being with her widow and widower friends with the Stepping Forward support group in Mason City. She loved to shop and spend time sharing with her children and grandchildren.

Those thankful for sharing Elaine's life include her daughter, Sandra Kay and her husband, Allan Duitman, of Mason City; two sons, Thomas Lee and his wife, Delores Tucker, of Osceola, Ind., and Harry F. and his wife, Lucinda Tucker Jr., of Granger, Ind.; four sisters, Olive Bachman, of Fort Meyers, Fla., Francis and her husband, Jack Miller, of Tampa, Fla., Joyce and her husband, Gene Dunlap, of Three Rivers, Mich., and Susanne and her husband, Anthony Evans, of Vandalia, Mich.; one brother, George Kirk, of Elkhart, Ind.; five grandchildren, Allison Rose and Sarah May Tucker, Chelsea and Graham Lietchy, and Trent Duitman; two great grandchildren, Breanna Rel and James Allan Duitman; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry on Nov. 30, 1992; two sisters, Doris Meade and Leah Flicker; and three brothers, Charles, Donald and Richard Kirk.

EDNA I. HALLABRIN

MANSFIELD, Ohio - Edna I. (Witt) Hallabrin, 78, of 68 Westgate Dr., Mansfield, Ohio, died of Cancer on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at the Hillcrest Nursing Center of Fredricktown, Ohio, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Hallabrin was born June 5, 1921, at Nora Springs, the daughter of William and Myrtle (Pribbenow) Witt. Edna attended country school and graduated from Nora Springs High School in 1939. She was Miss Nora Springs at the Mason City Band Festival that year.

She was united in marriage to Barney Marrs in 1942. They adopted their son, Daniel Dale Marrs, in 1948.

Edna moved to Mesa, Ariz., in 1968. She was united in marriage to Philip Hallabrin in 1980 in Phoenix, Ariz. They moved to Mansfield, Ohio, in 1981, where they resided until now.

Edna enjoyed being a homemaker, baking special treats and working as a secretary in Mason City and Phoenix, Ariz. Most recently, she worked for Dr. William Elder at Fredricktown, Ohio.

She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Mansfield, Ohio, enjoying the fellowship and serving on various committees of the church. She especially enjoyed corresponding with her former classmates and keeping in touch with her other friends.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. David Sipes and Rector John Jorden on Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999. Burial was in Mansfield Memorial Park.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Hallabrin, of Mansfield, Ohio; a son, Daniel Marrs and his wife, Denise, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a granddaughter, Luv Bikker and her husband, David, of Anacortes, Wash.; four great-grandchildren, Brianna, Gabrielle, Alexandria and Nathan Bikker; two stepdaughters, Bonnie Beck and her husband, Dana and Vickie Bond, both of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; five stepgrandchildren, Alex Martin and his wife, Kathy, of North Carolina, Travis Richard, of New York, Jack Bond, Cooper Bond and Nicole Beck, of California; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Daniel and Stewart Martin, of North Carolina; two brothers, Harold Witt and his wife, Genevieve and Dale Witt, of Nora Springs; a sister, Bonnie Billings and her husband, Jim, of Nora Springs; five nieces and nephews, Bill Witt and his wife, Nancy, of Nora Springs, Barbara O'Donnell and her husband, Dennis, of Mason City, Jim Witt and his wife, Pam, of Mason City, Jolene Juhl and her husband, David, of St. Ansgar, and Cindy Fink and her husband, Chuck, of Nora Springs, as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a nephew, Bruce Billings.

VIVIAN H. RING

RICEVILLE - Vivian H. Ring, 81, of Riceville, died Thursday (Dec. 9, 1999) at the Riceville Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, with the Rev. Matthew Versemann officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Conway Funeral Home, with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service. There will be further visitation one hour prior to services on Monday at the Church.

JUNE I. MEINDERS

PARKERSBURG - June I. Meinders, 88, of Parkersburg, died Wednesday (Dec. 8, 1999) at the Maple Manor Care Center in Aplington.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at the Parkers United Methodist Church in Parkersburg, with the Rev. Jeanne Kough officiating. Interment will be in the Morgan Township Cemetery in Dows.

WESLEY - Dr. H.H. Raney, 88, of Wesley, died Wednesday (Dec. 8, 1999) at the Algona Manor Care Center in Algona.

Private family services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Wesley. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery, Wesley.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home.

LATIMER - Erma B. Pralle, 92, of Latimer, died Thursday (Dec. 9, 1999) at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Latimer.

MASON CITY - John C. Pannhoff, 46, of 777 S. Eisenhower Ave., died Tuesday (Dec. 7, 1999) at his home.

No services are planned at this time. The body will be cremated.
