Those wishing to extend a memorial or expression of sympathy may direct them to the Floyd L. Harms Memorial Fund.

Floyd Harms, the first-born of twin sons, was delivered into the world on Oct. 25, 1947, at Lutheran Hospital in Hampton. Floyd and his brother, Lloyd, were placed into the loving arms of their parents, Stenus Junior and Clara Erma (Davis) Harms. Floyd, the smaller of the two, was lovingly nicknamed "Pee Wee" and known as such by some family members throughout his life.

When Floyd was still an infant, the family relocated to Mason City, where Floyd attended school and graduated among the Class of 1967.

Floyd was inducted into the United States Marine Corps on Dec. 28, 1967 from Des Moines and served his country during the Vietnam War. While in conflict in Vietnam, Lloyd became a casualty of the war, thus, Floyd was honorably discharged from Camp Pendleton, Calif., on Nov. 20, 1968, and returned to Iowa.

In 1969, Floyd was united in marriage to Paula Freeman. The couple became the parents of two sons, Todd and Anthony. Although the marriage later dissolved, Floyd and Paula remained true to the best interests of their sons.

Floyd married Julie Christiansen at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mason City on Nov. 30, 1979. Two daughters, Janel and Stacey, were born to this union, however, the marriage ended in 1993.

Floyd was employed as a mill operator for over 30 years at Holcim Manufacturing in Mason City.

Some of Floyd's favorite leisure activities and hobbies included fishing, cooking, vegetable gardening, playing cards, dice and cribbage, watching wrestling (WWE) on television and visiting with his family and friends. Spending time and conversing with his children and grandchildren and tending to his three pets, Missy, Jake and Sam were of great delight to Floyd.

Floyd will be sadly missed by family and friends who have shared in his life.

He is survived by his son, Anthony "Tony" Harms of Wilmington, Ill.; his daughters, Janel Harms, of Britt, and Stacey Harms, of Nora Springs; his daughter-in-law, Erica Harms-Abney of Royalton, Ill.; his granddaughter, Elizabeth Harms; and grandson, Taylor Harms. Floyd will also be cherished by numerous other relatives and friends.

Preceding Floyd in death are his son, Todd Harms in May of 2000: his parents, Stenus and Clara Harms; his stepfather, Francis "Dale" Grover; and his brother, Lloyd Harms.

Thoughts, condolences and stories may be e-mailed to the family on the www.fullertonfh.com Web site.

He married Dawn Jobe Hawkins on Sept. 28, 1946, in Mt Vernon, S.D.

In 1965 with a leap of faith and his good friend, John Dougan, they bought 1,600 acres of the Lindon Ranch south of Clear Lake for $500,000, which was the biggest land sale in the history of Cerro Gordo County up until then. He was also one of five partners in Hilltop Ranch at Dows in the late 1960s along with Dougan, Clarence Hobbs and Jim Brown. Brown, after farming in South Dakota, moved back to Iowa to manage this property.

In 1968 they moved to their present home in rural Manly, where he continued to farm.

Hazel treasured hearing and telling a good joke, solving jumbo crossword puzzles, eating sweet treats, playing the organ, cheering for the Iowa Hawkeye basketball team and listening to the music of the "Raiders."

Hazel met many people in Mason City while on her four- to five-mile long walks, which she took daily until she was in her early 90's. She loved shopping, especially for her tiny size 4 1/2 shoes and traveling with her grandson, Steve, to run errands or to visit Corrine and Carolee.

Hazel was a devoted member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Mason City, where she was an active member of Group No. 3 and involved in many activities.

Cherishing Hazel's memory is her beloved daughter, Corrine Severson, of Johnston; her grandson, Steve Severson, of Mason City; her granddaughter, Carolee Severson of Phoenix, Ariz.; her brother, Ray Hiams, of Rowan; her two great-grandsons, Jorden Pitkin and Drake Swarms; and her new great-great granddaughter, Isabelle Pitkin.

Everett H. Enabnit Jr.

MASON CITY - Everett H. "Jr." Enabnit, Jr., 62, of 836 S. Tyler Ave. in Mason City, died Thursday (March 27, 2008) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E. in Mason City, with the Rev. Wendy Johannesen officiating. At the close of the service, military respects will be provided by the Mason City Memorial Association.

The family will greet relatives at friends at Fullerton Funeral Home in Mason City one hour prior to Everett's service on Tuesday.

Those wishing to extend a memorial or expression of sympathy may wish to direct them to the Everett H. Enabnit, Jr. Memorial Fund.

Everett Hanks Enabnit Jr. was born Oct. 21, 1945, the son of Emma Irene (Cunningham) and Everett Hanks Enabnit Sr. He was known to many by his nickname, "Jr."

On Dec. 20, 1966, Everett entered into active duty with the U.S. Army and committed himself to the service of his country as a medic during the Vietnam War. After faithfully completing his military duties as an E-6 sergeant, Everett was formally and honorably discharged from the Army on Feb. 26, 1974, from Fort Sheridan, Ill.

While in the Army and stationed in South Korea, Everett met his future wife, Young Hui. Everett was sent to Vietnam, however, during military leave times he would travel back and forth to visit Young Hui in Korea where, eventually, the couple married. A daughter, Laura, was born to this union.

Everett accepted a new duty location back in the United States as a recruiter in Chicago.

Young Hui died on May 18, 1975. Everett and Laura moved to Clear Lake.

Following their move to Clear Lake, Jr. reconnected with and began dating a special lady friend, Katherine Irene "Kathie" Staley. Their relationship blossomed and the couple was united in marriage on Oct. 5, 1984, in LaCrosse, Wis.

Together they found great adventure in fishing, camping and frequenting thrift stores in search of oriental pieces, which they both treasured. Jr. often commented that he enjoyed, "the thrill of the hunt!" Jr. and Kathie lovingly parented daughters, Laura and Jamie.

Described as a very intelligent and spirited man who "seemed to march to his own drummer," Jr. possessed a wonderful sense of humor!

Some of his interests and hobbies included watching the History and Discovery channels on television, he was especially fond of ancient and Roman history, cooking and serving his "firehouse chili" and spending as much time as possible with his family.

He was a talented artist, often producing beautiful etchings, painting and carvings. Jr. was a former member of the Amvets in Clear Lake.

Due to ill health, Jr. became disabled in 1999, however, his family recalls his earlier years of dedication to the Army and his employments with Smithford Industries where he worked in quality control and at the Hayfield Industries Fiberglass Co.

Jr. will be dearly missed by his wife, Katherine "Kathie" Enabnit of Mason City; his daughters, Laura (Monty) Williamson of Clear Lake and Jamie (John) Simon of Mason City; his sister, Izetta Fischer of Mason City; his sister-in-law, Patricia Enabnit of Fort Dodge; his granddaughter, Chloe Williamson of Clear Lake; his grandson, Donnie Miller of Palm Desert, Calif., and numerous other relatives and friends.

Preceding Jr. in death are his first wife, Young Hui Enabnit; his parents, Emma and Everett Enabnit, Sr.; and his brother, Richard Enabnit.
