Judy is survived by her mother, Isabelle Lawton Godwin of Jefferson; daughter, Angela Gibson (Ned) of Gowrie, Iowa; son, Richard Conklin Jr. of Harcourt, Iowa; two brothers, Dr. Jim Lawton of Boxholm, Iowa and Jerry Lawton (Cheryl) of Fort Dodge, Iowa; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 80, of Clear Lake, passed
away Sunday, May 3, 2009, at
the Muse-Norris Hospice
Inpatient Unit in Mason
City, Iowa.
A memorial service for Lois will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North 4th Street, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating. Inurnment will be held in the Clear Lake Cemetery. The family of Lois Reicherts has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City in her memory. Lois Marie Reicherts was born on Nov. 12, 1928, in Conrath, Wis., the daughter of John and Jennie (Holt) Costello. Lois moved to Rochester, Minn., before moving to Spring Valley, Minn., in 1931, where she attended two different country schools and Spring Valley High School. Lois worked during the summer at Rochester, before moving to Minneapolis, Minn., where she worked as a nanny for eight months. She then returned to Spring Valley where she worked at the HiWay Café. It was there she met her future husband, Carl. She was united in marriage to Carl Lee Reicherts on Oct. 2, 1948, at Spring Valley. After their marriage they moved to Clear Lake. Lois had a special place in her heart for her nephew, David and wife B.T. and nieces, Peggy and Sandy. Her life was devoted to taking care of her family. Her house was always open to family and friends. Lois looked forward to the 4th of July family reunions and picnics. Lois had an adventurous spirit, traveling to New Zealand, Australasia and Alaska, riding in a hot-air balloon over New Zealand and climbing a glacier in Alaska in her 70’s, and taking many trips to Texas. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Ronald (Sue) Reicherts of Trimont, Minn., Donna Reicherts Hendrick of Mason City, LuAnn Reicherts and Rodney (Coleen) Reicherts of Carrollton, Texas; seven grandchildren, Travis Hendrick and Cody Abundis of Clear Lake, Shannon and Sarah Reicherts of Carrollton, Heather (Ryan) Larson of St. James, Minn., Hilary Baarson of Fairmont, Minn., and Derek Baarson of Ormsby, Minn.; two great-grandchildren, Allyson and Jackson Larson of St. James; sister, Ann (Duane) Christianson of LeRoy, Minn.; two brothers, James Costello of Spring Valley, and Robert Costello of Dilworth, Minn.; brother-in-law, Elmer (Blanche) Reicherts of Clear Lake; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Reicherts of Lake Mills, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; as well as other extended family members and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jennie Costello; her husband, Carl in 1992; her son, Charles (Chuckie) 1967; and brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws. Monday, May 4, 2009

held Thursday, May 7, at
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial
Chapel, Clear Lake, with the
Rev. Dennis Ganz
officiating. Following the
service, according to his
wishes, his body was
cremated. Memorials may be
given to the Stanley L.
Holcomb Memorial Fund.
Stanley was born Aug. 11, 1940 in Ackley, Iowa, the son of John and Lottie (Blossie) Holcomb. He attended school in Ackley and rode the rails and lived in a Hobo Camp. While growing up he also worked at a canning factory in Ackley. He served in the National Guard and the Army Reserve. Stan married Colleen Nelson on March 17, 1968 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He worked for Martin Marietta as an explosive technician and later worked at Perkins as a prep cook. Stan enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and playing in the pool league. Stanley is survived by his wife of 42 years, Colleen Holcomb, Clear Lake; three children, Kimberly Tesdahl and her husband, Scott, Exeter, Mo., Melissa Arnold and her husband, Scott, Rake, Iowa and Delta Holcomb and Todd, Clear Lake; five grandchildren, Amanda Arnold, Alisa Arnold, Coleen Arnold, Matthew Holcomb and Mitchell Holcomb; two great-grandchildren, Daiman Benny and Skylar Lopez; brother, John Holcomb and his wife, Dorothy, Ackley; sister, Velma Clark, Waterloo, Iowa; three brothers-in-law, Larry Nelson and his wife, Janet, Mason City, Mike Nelson and Wendy, Mason City, and Ken Nelson, Clear Lake; sister-in-law, Kathy Swan and her husband, Jessie, Lakeland, Fla.; good friends Larry and Roxanne Wildebore, Coulter, Iowa and Ronnie and Donna Kiefer, Des Moines, Iowa; nieces, nephews and many friends. Kenneth Dean Rasmus, 61,
of Clear Lake, passed away
on May 6, 2009 at the VA
Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, May 12, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Frank Beaty of Zion Evangelical & Reformed Church, Garner, Iowa officiating. Inurnment was at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa. Full Military rites were provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W. Memorials may be given to the Kenneth D. Rasmus Memorial Fund. Kenny was born on Feb. 27, 1948 to Irwin “Dean” and Arlene (Schmidt) Rasmus in Franklin County Hospital, Hampton, Iowa. Kenny was confirmed at the Zion ENR Church in Garner in the spring of 1963. Kenny graduated from Garner Hayfield High School in 1966. Kenneth was active in sports. He attended NIACC for one year majoring in business courses. Kenny enlisted in the Marines June 17,1968. He served with Service Company, 11th Engineers Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. Kenny served one tour of Viet Nam for 11 months and 25 days. He received the following commendations; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, Vietnam Service Medal w/1*, Combat Action Ribbon, and Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. Kenny was honorably discharged from the Marine Corp on Feb. 27, 1970. Kenneth was an active member of the Garner VFW. Kenny was employed at Iowa Mold Tooling until he took the position of Business Agent for the Teamsters Union, Local 828. Kenneth then took the position of selling life insurance and also selling mortgages. Because of health reasons, Kenneth retired. Kenny married Lizz Danzow in the summer of 1971. Kenny and Lizz had a son, Shad, born on May 6, 1973. Kenny’s greatest interests in life were family, friends, and of course riding “Sweetheart”, his 1971 Shovelhead as well as playing with Günther. Another passion of Kenny’s was being a prankster, playing jokes on anyone who he felt deserved to be played upon. Telling jokes from the beginning to the end, one after another. Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Irwin Dean Rasmus; his ex-wife, Lizz; and ex-wife, Vicky. Kenneth is survived by his son, Shad Rasmus of Clear Lake; his mother, Arlene Rasmus of Garner, his sister, Judy Schroeder (Dick) of Grand Blanc, Mich.; a brother, Glenn (Mary) Rasmus of Klemme, Iowa. Kenneth is also survived by his nephew, John (Kendra) Schroeder of Flushing, Mich.; nieces, Kate Schroeder of Grand Blanc, and Angie (Matt) Greiman of Goodell, Iowa; nephews, Ryan (Kate) Rasmus of Waubay, S. Paul Radcliffe Larson of

Lake, died May 6, 2009 at
Hospice of North Iowa,
leaving Barbara Larson, his
wife of 45 years.
Born June 1, 1926 in Fargo, N.D., Larson received his education in Fargo and Marshalltown, Iowa where he graduated from high school. He served in the United States Navy and, following the war, attended Iowa State University. He began his career in Marshalltown starting a design/build business that focused on residential and commercial structures whose designs were considered ahead of the times. Some of his projects included the Marshall County Mental Health Center, Wolf Eye Clinic, Lennox Industries Educational Auditorium, Boss Building, Hamilton-Goes Building and many Marshalltown homes. Other business interests included design and operating restaurants in Marshalltown and Atlanta, Ga., partnership in Western Manufacturing and its subsidiaries. Paul was a member of Marshalltown Rotary and active in the Central Iowa Art Association. Paul and Barbara made Clear Lake their retirement residence in the early 80’s, where Paul had been active over 30 years as a member and past president of the Association For The Preservation of Clear Lake. Paul Larson leaves many samples of his promoting of Clear Lake with his sailboat design on the Clear Lake street markers, the Clear Lake welcome signs entering the city and even the waste receptacle enclosures. Since moving to Clear Lake, Paul enjoyed rebuilding Model T’s, donating several completed cars for charitable fund raisers or outright gifts. He was a past president of Model T Ford Club International, Inc. and was serving in a board of director capacity at the time of his death. In 1994 and 2006 he promoted and brought to Clear Lake the Model T International Summer Tour which brought some 900 vintage Model T’s to tour the North Iowa area. He will be remembered by many driving Santa in his white parade Model T for many years in both the 4th of July Parade and the Christmas By The Lake Parade. Paul Larson was preceded in death by his parents, Nelly B. and Lloyd J. Larson and a brother, Dr. Lloyd B. Larson of Scottsdale, Az. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three children, Julie, Tom and Jim Crandall; Paul’s sister, Belle Miller of Winfield, Iowa; brothers, Bill Larson of Fayetteville, Ark. and Jim Larson of Clear Lake. No memorial service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
