Barbara E. Smith

Walk with Me

By Forest D. Smith

Come walk with me darlin,’

No need to talk

Just hold my hand darlin’

Hold hands and walk

We’ll go down by the river

Under the trees

Skip stones on the water

Feel the soft summer breeze

We’ll listen for birds — watch a circling hawk

No need for words

We’ll just hold hands and walk.
