Richard Lee Reints

Richard Lee Reints, age 66, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born November 5, 1943, the son of Datert and Lelah Poppe Reints at home in rural Butler County near Clarksville, Iowa. He received his education and graduated from Clarksville High School in 1962.

Richard was united in marriage with Sherry Petitt on February 26, 1965, at the Immanuel United Church of Christ, Clarksville, Iowa. Richard was drafted into the U.S. Army on November 15, 1966, and was honorably discharged November 14, 1968.

Richard was employed with Terex Cranes in Waverly for 38 years until he retired on January 31, 2005. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Clarksville where he had served as a deacon. He was also a member of the Clarksville AMVETS Post #30.

Richard enjoyed trap shooting for which he had received over a dozen plaques. He loved the outdoors and hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed his carpentry hobby. He loved to spend time with his family and play with his grandchildren. Richard had many friends and was always there for others as he loved to help people.

Richard died Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at Waverly Health Center after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Datert and Lelah Reints.

Richard is survived by his wife, Sherry Reints, of Clarksville, Iowa; two sons, Kevin Reints, Clarksville, Iowa and Timothy (Jessi) Reints, Clarksville, Iowa; two grandchildren, Brandt Reints and Leyton Reints; one brother, Leonard (Darlene) Reints, Plainfield, Iowa; one sister, Arlene (Harold) Meyer, Onawa, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Donna (Richard) Lindloff, Clarksville, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, January 2, 2010, at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Clarksville with Pastor Lynne Busch officiating. Sharon Leerhoff accompanied those in attendance singing "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Travis Bouska sang "On Eagles Wings". Burial was held in Lynwood Cemetery, Clarksville, with Elmer Reints, Charles Backer, Arlan Laube, Butch Jacobs, Fred Backer and Bob Kelm serving as Casketbearers. Honorary Casketbearers were members of the Clarksville Sportsmen Club. Full Military Honors were conducted by the Clarksville AMVETs Post #30. Donna Lindloff and Roberta Knapp served on the flower committee.

Florence Anna Schrage

Florence Anna Schrage, 92, of Shell Rock, Iowa, passed away January 1, 2010, at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born June 13, 1917, on the family farm in rural Clarksville, Iowa, to Charles & Martha "Mattie" (Hinrichs) Endelman. Florence was baptized at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Butler Center, Iowa on July 8, 1917. She was confirmed at the same church years later on April 3, 1932. Florence attended the Jefferson #5 Country School South of Clarksville until her mother passed away. She then gave up school to take over the household and assist her father in raising her brothers & sisters.

Florence was united in marriage to Ora E. Schrage on February 28, 1943, at the St. James Lutheran Church Parsonage in Allison. Ora preceded her in death in January of 1982. After losing her husband, Florence was determined to stay on the farm for as long as possible, she eventually moved to town at the urging of her daughters.

Throughout her life Florence was a homemaker, a mother of nine children, including two sets of twins and a farm wife. Florence was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville. She enjoyed listening to Christian Crusaders & other radio ministries. Florence also greatly enjoyed needle work, sewing & gardening. Her family was her life and Florence loved spending as much time with them as possible. She was a great people person and made friends with ease. Florence was a "doer" and her positivity in the face of adversity was always an inspiration to her family.

She is survived by six daughters Marilyn (Jim) Nordman of Clarksville, Sharon (James) Bochmann of Greene, Carol (Kim) Peterson of Cedar Falls, Janice Schrage of Dubuque, Donna (Roy) Snyder of Winthrop & Marcia Schrage-Silvers of Shell Rock, two sisters Dena Junker of Nashua & Margery Endelman of Parkersburg, sister-in-law Verla Endelman of Clarksville, brother-in-law Bernard (Marlys) Schrage of Waverly, grandchildren Shanelle (Kevin) Harken of Clarksville, Shawna (Mark) Lebeck of Clarksville, Brent (Lori) Bochmann of Fairfield, Nathan (Sarah) Bochmann of Des Moines, Carissa Bochmann of Des Moines, Adam Peterson (Christi Morris) of Waterloo, Katelyn Riley of Algona, Joni Snyder of Winthrop, Ryan Baker of Mason City & Nicole Baker of Waterloo, great-grandchildren Heather, Shane & Cody Harken, McKenna & McKayla Lebeck, Troy & Erica Bochmann and Catherine & Ethan Baker and numerous nieces & nephews.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter Joyce, infant son Steven, daughter Diane Baker, grandchildren Julie Snyder & Mark Peterson, great-grandson Alex John Bochmann, infant brother Harry Endelman, brothers Siebert & Harry Endelman, sisters Anna Negen, Marian Wilkens & Tena Wilkens, son-in-law William "Bob" Silvers and sister-in-law Lavon Oldenburger.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville, Iowa. Burial was in the Lynwood Cemetery in Clarksville, Iowa.

Elmer John Kruse

Elmer John Kruse, 87, of Allison, Iowa, passed away December 27, 2009, at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison.

He was born June 1, 1922, in Hampton, Iowa, to Fred and Cena (Werkman) Kruse. Elmer attended Brushy Mound West Point #6 country school in rural Bristow, Iowa. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Elmer was a farmer. He was a 50 year member of the Dumont Legion, and was a lifetime member of the St. John’s EV Lutheran Church in rural Greene, Iowa. He enjoyed fishing and riding around looking at the crops.

Elmer is survived by his brother Eldo & wife Rena Kruse of Allison, sister Ann Reed of Dumont, brother Harold & wife Marlys Kruse of Allison, brother Herman & wife Sharon Kruse of Allison, sister Ida Mae & husband Richard Litterer of Clarksville, sister-in-law Donna Kruse of Bristow and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, twin infant brother Emil, brother William Kruse and a brother-in-law Nolan Reed.

Funeral services were heldWednesday, December 30, 2009, at St. John’s EV Lutheran Church in rural Greene, Iowa, with burial in St. John’s EV Lutheran Church Cemetery. Rev. Mark Walker officiated the service. Organist was Florence Vieker, and pianist was Marcia Larson. Soloist was Shirley Wubbena. Pallbearers were Don Kruse, Dan Graeser, Warren Wiegmann, Gary Kruse, Roger Lund, and Kevin Litterer. Military services provided by the Dumont American Legion.

Edward Phillip DePuew

Edward Phillip DePuew, age 92, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born May 2, 1917, the son of Earl and Ila (Lumm) DePuew in rural Butler County near Clarksville, Iowa. He attended country schools and Clarksville High School.

Edward was united in marriage to Lucille Isabelle Hurd on October 28, 1935, in New Hampton, Iowa. Lucille preceded him in death on September 28, 2005. They made their home on a farm west of Clarksville with Lucille’s family for five years. Ed and Lucille moved to various farms in Butler County before moving to their current home in Clarksville. Ed was a janitor for the Clarksville Schools for many years. He owned and operated Ed’s Handy Service, a filling station in Clarksville.

Ed was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Clarksville for 80 years. He was engaged in farming until age 90 and was pleased that the farm had been in the family for five generations. Ed loved time spent with family and friends. He also enjoyed gardening and sharing the produce. He was proud of his Ag-Allis Tractor and his "Golden Acres Farm."

Edward passed away on January 3, 2010, at the Community Nursing Home in Clarksville where he had resided since May, 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, a granddaughter, Patricia Miller; a great-grandson, Nicholas Dettmer; a daughter-in-law, Mona DePuew; two sisters-in-laws, Eileen DePuew and Lois Hurd; two brothers-in-law, Harold Hurd and Lyle Wedeking.

Edward is survived by four sons, William (Teresa) DePuew, Waverly, Iowa; Joseph (Lois) DePuew, Warsaw, Missouri; Jerry (Rose) DePuew, Clarksville, Iowa; Maynard "Mike" (Barb) DePuew, Las Vegas, Nevada; two daughters, Betty (Ronald) Miller, Clarksville, Iowa and JoAnn DePuew, Clarksville, Iowa; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; one brother, George (Theresa) DePuew, St. Cloud, Florida; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Wedeking, Waukon, Iowa.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at the Community United Methodist Church in Clarksville with Pastor Christine Pauley officiating. Organist was Lola Clark.

Congregational Hymns were "Old Rugged Cross", "One Day at a Time" and "In the Garden".

Honorary Casketbearers were his granddaughters Kristy Rider, Kim DePuew, Brenda DePuew, Lori Berens, Ellen Goosby, Terry Dubinski, Lisa Bartlett, Robbi Dettmer and Rhonda Gade. Casketbearers were his grandsons Kirk DePuew, Ken DePuew, Paul Miller, Alan Miller, Brian Miller, David DePuew, Mark DePuew and Jay DePuew.

Burial was in Lynwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Iowa with Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Clarksville is in charge of arrangements.

Melvin C. Bohner

 

Melvin Charles Bohner, age 69, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born March 24, 1940, in Butler County, near Dumont, Iowa, the son of Charles and Grace (Tjebkes) Bohner. He received his education in rural country schools and graduated from the Clarksville High School in 1958. He later attended Wartburg College and Iowa State University.

Mel was united in marriage with Carolyn Schmidt on August 14, 1960, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville. The couple made their home in Clarksville and Waverly for over 49 years. To this union five children were born.

Mel began working for Farm Bureau in 1967. Together with his wife Carolyn, they enjoyed traveling all over the world with many friends through Farm Bureau. He retired in March of 2007 after 40 years of service. He loved being around people and cherished the friendships he had made throughout the years. Although much anticipated, the day he retired was still a sad one for him.

In his free time, Mel enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. He was also an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan with over 20 years of season tickets to the football games. Mel also enjoyed managing his cattle herd, fishing and a good joke. He always had a smile on his face and loved to make others laugh as well. Perhaps one of his greatest joys was time spent with his family. All of his grandchildren were very special to him. Mel was extremely proud of his Army Ranger grandson, Dereck and the service he has provided to his country.

Mel died Monday, January 4, 2010, at the Florida Hospital in Zephyrhills, Florida from natural causes. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Audrey Bergman.

Mel is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carolyn, of Clarksville, Iowa; his five children, Mark Bohner of LeMars, Iowa, Nancy (Kenny) Kappmeyer of Waverly, Iowa, Kim Bohner of Waverly, Iowa, Michael Bohner (special friend, Corinne) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Matthew Bohner of Clarksville, Iowa; 9 grandchildren, Dereck Bohner, Kyle Kappmeyer, Sarah, Blake and Lauren Bohner, AnCara, Darrion, Sierra and Capri Rabatach.

Funeral Services were held Sunday, January 10, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Waverly, Iowa, with Rev. Nancy Schultz officiating the services. The organist was Doug Shaffers, the vocalist, Kim Bohner sang "Amazing Grace" and the congregational hymns were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden." The Casketbearers were Leland "Red" Metz, James Trask, Bill Dunkelberger, James Peters, Ronald Brandt and Wayne Blythe. The Flower Committee was Linda Trask, Sandy Mirs and Pauline Kappmeyer. Interment was at the Lynwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Iowa.

David Marvin Ayers

David Marvin Ayers, 46, of Allison, Iowa, passed away January 6, 2010, at his home in Allison, Iowa.

He was born November 4, 1963, in Hampton, Iowa, to Kenneth and Sheryl (Hansen) Ayers. David graduated from the Dumont High School. He married Connie Allen on April 11, 1987, in Nashua, Iowa.

David was a self employed truck driver, working up to his diagnosis of cancer in April of 2008. He was saved on February 23, 1981 in Stout, Iowa, and attended the Faith Baptist Church in Hampton, Iowa, and was a member of the Second Chance Motorcycle Club since April of 2007. David enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, attending and fellowship at AA meetings and watching his nieces and nephews in sports activities.

He is survived by his wife Connie Ayers of Allison, son Dustin and wife Anna Ayers of Cleveland, Tennessee, parents Kenneth & Sheryl Ayers of Bristow, brother Brian & wife Lori Ayers of Dumont, sister Tami Howey of Dumont, brother Jamey & wife Bridget Ayers of Dumont, maternal grandmother Shirley Hansen of Aredale, mother-in-law Bonnie and husband Duffy Gangsei of Allison, sister-in-law Tanya Reeser of Allison, sister-in-law Leah & husband Jason Lewis of Dumont, sister-in-law Mindy & husband Patrick Nolan of Allison, father-in-law: Tim & wife Darcy Allen of Sartell, Minnesota, his nieces and nephews; Kendra Howey; Bailey, Kalen, Ava and Ahna Ayers; Ty Lewis; Mitchell and Shelby Reeser, Taylor and Jersie Nolan and baby Nolan expected in March, and a great niece Lexus Howey.

David was preceded in death by his nephew, Brandon Ayers; aunt, Betty Swieter; aunt Donna Harper; maternal grandfather, Marvin Hansen; paternal grandfather, Paul Ayers and paternal grandmother, Maxine Ayers.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 9, 2010, at the Faith Baptist Church in Hampton with burial in the Allison Cemetery. Pastor David Koenigsberg officiated the service. Pianist was Brad VanHorn with a duet by Dustin & Anna Ayers. Ushers were Doug Ayers, Dennis Swieter, and Jason Lewis. Pallbearers were Brian Ayers, Jamey Ayers, Steve Finn, Dave Byford, Merle Muller, and Gary Church. Honorary Pallbearers were Kurt Kruger, Marv Folkerts, Melvin Neagle, and Frank Neagle.

Hinderene Grace Van Raden

Hinderene Grace Van Raden, 80 years of age, of Allison, Iowa, died January 6, 2010, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa.

Hinderene was born August 26, 1929, to Jerry and Ella (Ooster) Mennenga near Shell Rock, Iowa. In 1930 she was baptized at the Ebeneezer Lutheran Church near Allison, started Sunday School when she was three years old, and was confirmed in 1943 at the Peace Lutheran Church of Shell Rock.

She attended the Shell Rock Public School all twelve years. Since there was no kindergarten, Hinderene began at first grade, and in 1946 she graduated valedictorian of her class. In her valedictorian speech Hinderene said that graduation was not the sunset of her life but the dawn!

The fall of 1946 Hinderene began teaching at a rural school in Jackson Township. Later she attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, taught in Clarion, IA, and taught nineteen years in the elementary grades for the Allison-Bristow Public Schools. She was named to WHO’S WHO OF AMERICAN TEACHERS in 1990.

October 24, 1948, Hinderene married Leslie Thomas Van Raden at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waverly. They raised four children: Joyce, Debra, Daryl, and Rodney. At various times they had two foster children.

Hinderene was a member of the Allison Women’s Club, a trustee of the Allison Public Library, and a member of the Reformed Church Women’s Ministries. She was also the creator of the Iowa slogan "Fields of Opportunity."

She had great joy in teaching and working with her students. She enjoyed writing poetry and short stories, reading, planting flowers, gardening, and baking bread. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Hinderene is survived by two daughters: Joyce Keeling of Rowan; Debra (David) Anderson of Indianola; and one son Rodney (Teresa) Van Raden of Indianola; six grandchildren: Chadly (Jan) Keeling and Robby (Carisa) Keeling; Sarah, Rachel, and Emily Van Raden; Samuel Anderson; five great grandchildren: Adam, Katelyn, Allison, Ava, and Blake Keeling; two brothers: Richard Mennenga, Henry "Bud" Mennenga; and three sisters: Jean Folkerts, Marie Heeren, and Pauline Meyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Elizabeth Bales, husband Leslie in 1994, son Daryl in 1976 and son-in-law Verlyn Keeling in 2009.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at the Trinity Reformed Church in Allison, Iowa. Burial took place in the Allison Cemetery. Pastor Gary Mulder officiated the service. Keyboardist was Sandi Meinders with a duet by Greta Eberline and Joel Sult.

Pallbearers were Sam Anderson, Chad Keeling, Rob Keeling, Duane Folkerts, Dale Mennenga, Larry Heeren, Gary Bales, Alan Meyer, Steve Heeren, and Calvin Mennenga.

Elsie Church

Elsie Church, age 78, of Parkersburg, Iowa, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, at the Cedar Valley Dialysis Center from complications from a heart attack suffered in 2006.

Funeral Services were held Monday, January 11, 2010, at Faith Lutheran Church, Parkersburg, Iowa with Rev. Daniel J. Finn officiating.

Ruby Faye Mason

Ruby Faye Mason, 93, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away January 5, 2010, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 8, 2010, at the Geneva United Methodist Church in Geneva. Burial was in the Lindenwood Cemetery in rural Geneva. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Homes of Hampton was in charge of arrangements.

Chris Allen Piper

Chris Allen Piper, 47, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away January 4, 2010, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 9, 2010, at the Church of the Living Word in Hampton. Burial took place at the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton, Iowa, with Pastor Jon Anderson officiating the service.

Douglas J. Van Cleave

A reception celebrating the life of Douglas J. Van Cleave will be held Friday, January 22, 2010, at the Dumont Legion Hall in Dumont, Iowa, from 4 to 6 p.m. There will be no funeral services. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Lawn Cemetery in rural Boxholm, Iowa.

Douglas J. Van Cleave, 76, of Bristow, Iowa, passed away, Sunday, January 17, 2010, at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. He was born March 24, 1933, in Greenbriar Township, Iowa, to John Douglas and Orpha Lee (Lamp) Van Cleave. Douglas graduated from Bagley High School.

He served his country in the United States Army for several years. Douglas was united in marriage to Carole Ann Wightman on November 15, 1965, in Guthrie Center, Iowa. He worked in many fields throughout his life including long haul truck driving, farming and working for the Iowa State Conservation Commission.

Douglas was a member of the Dumont American Legion, Tree Forever and the Wildlife Conservation Association. He loved spending time with his family, horseback riding and was an avid outdoors man. He also greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.

Douglas is survived by his wife Carole Van Cleave of Bristow, daughter Kelly and husband Russ Reynolds of Hampton, daughter Kerry and husband Keith Gould of Latimer, son John and wife Jenny Van Cleave of Jackson Springs, North Carolina & son Joseph and wife Cindy Van Cleave of Whispering Pines, North Carolina; three sisters Ramona Shaver of Des Moines, Patricia Van Cleave of Waukeegan, Illinois & Joann Harwood of Menlo; grandchildren Krystle, Danielle, Spencer, Lauren, Joseph, Isabella, Connor, McKenzie, Collon, Robyn & Megan; great-grandchildren Kaele & Zachary and numerous nieces & nephews.

Arlene Winkey

Arlene Winkey, 76, of Waverly, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Memorial services were held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Readlyn, Iowa.

Arlene was born on August 5, 1933 to Paul and Erma Fick Schmadeke in Clarksville, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Larry Winkey on June 8, 1952 in Clarksville. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery work, baking, ceramics, fishing and gardening work.

She is survived by her husband Larry; daughter, Rhonda (Roger) Capper of Clarksville; son, Mitchell Winkey of Janesville; grandchildren, Sonia (Don) Eggleston of Plainfield; Dustin Avery of Moline, IL; Arron Winkey of New Hartford; and Melissa Winkey of Waterloo; great grandchildren, Jacob and Dylan Eggleston; Isaac, Jeremiah, and Brooklyn Avery; Jordan Winkey, Emmanuel Mehdeh, and Masyn Mummelthie; siblings, Marilyn Shipp of Waverly; Marjorie Shaffer of Cedar Falls; Harlan Schmadeke of Clarksville; Barbara Bartell of Herman, MN; Dennis Schmadeke of Cedar Falls; and Marvin Schmadeke of Clarksville.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Jack Shultz.

Dennis Knudson

Dennis Owen Knudson, age 66, of Parkersburg, Iowa, died Saturday, January 9, 2010, at his home in Parkersburg of natural causes from a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Parkersburg, Iowa with Pastor Keith Seivers officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg, Iowa with Full Military Rites conducted by Parkersburg American Legion Post #285. LuEtta Mae Spree, age 77, formerly of Parkersburg, died Friday, January 8, 2010, at the Maple Manor Village in Aplington, from natural causes.

Siena Margaret DeBower Feltus, 93, of Allison, Iowa, passed away January 11, 2010, at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison, Iowa.

She was born on August 5, 1916, the daughter of Paul Sr. and Tena (Hoodjer) DeBower in Waverly, Iowa. Siena was baptized at the Vilmar Lutheran Church in September 1916 and confirmed in 1928 at the St. James Lutheran Church. She graduated from Allison High School and attended Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls.

Siena was united in marriage with Robert (Bob) D. Feltus on October 11, 1936, in Allison. They made their home on a farm near Greene, and then relocated to Colorado for four years before returning to Allison. Siena taught Sunday School in the St. James Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Ladies Aid and Women of the Church. Siena was a very good seamstress and she enjoyed gardening, refinishing antiques, quilting, reading, and playing Scrabble, but she will be remembered by many for all the love she so carefully put into the delicious food she cooked and baked.

Siena is survived by her son Patrick and wife Ruth Feltus of Allison, her daughter Rebecca Leo and husband Bill Nichols of Vista, California; her grandchildren, Daniel and wife Peggy Feltus, Vickie and husband Brad Pruisner, DeAnn and husband Dan Krutsinger, Launcelot and wife Mariam Bicknell, Amanda Bicknell and Mari Bicknell; six great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren and two step great-great grandchildren.

Siena was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 1984, four brothers Harry DeBower, Otto DeBower, Paul DeBower Jr. and Hank Henrichs, and three sisters Hulda Gilbertson, Etta Bieber and Grace Miller.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 16, 2010, at St. James Lutheran Church - Allison, Iowa, with Rev. Jeffrey A. Blank officiating. Organist was Mrs. Cecil Radcliffe.

Pallbearers were Don Henrichs, Roger Wubbena, Mathew Feltus, Brennen Pruisner, Launcelot Bicknell, and Caleb Krutsinger.

Burial was in the Allison Cemetery.

Lucille Mae Peters, age 88, of Aplington, Iowa, passed away Friday, January 15, 2010, at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley, Iowa.

Celebration of Life services were held Monday, January 18, 2010, at the First Reformed Church, Aplington, Iowa with Rev. Harlan De Jung officiating.

Burial was in Bethel Reformed Cemetery, Aplington, Iowa.

Bernice Lucille Barrett, age 85, of Aplington and formerly of Parkersburg, died Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Maple Manor Village, Aplington, Iowa, from natural causes.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at the Parkersburg United Methodist Church, in Parkersburg, with Rev. Betsy Piette officiating. Burial was held in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg.

Percy J. Johansen, 85, of Latimer, Iowa, passed away on January 24, 2010, at his home in Latimer, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Coulter. Burial will take place in the Coulter Cemetery in Coulter. Pastor David Bernhardt will officiate the service.
